Graham House is the Executive Chef at Luminosa, an upscale eatery driven by Italian classics, hyperlocal ingredients, and dishes crafted in a wood-burning oven and grill. A proud native of Western North Carolina, Graham is a seasoned chef who brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted connection and appreciation for the local community to his role as the culinary leader at the highly anticipated Flat Iron Hotel.
Since 2016, Graham has established himself as a beacon of culinary excellence in the Asheville food scene, renowned for his unwavering commitment to local purveyors, producers, and farmers and his dedication to sustainable and innovative practices, which has earned him a well-deserved reputation in Asheville as a champion for the vibrant agricultural heritage of the Appalachian region. Throughout his career, Graham has embraced opportunities that have pushed him outside of his comfort zone, including positions such as Culinary Director of Chop Shop Butchery and Culinary Managing Partner of Up & Up. Notably, he was invited to cook a Modern Appalachian-themed dinner at the esteemed James Beard House in NYC and was featured in The New York Times for his contribution to the rise and growth of Appalachian cuisine.
At Luminosa, Graham is thrilled to be part of The Indigo Road Hospitality Group's venture into the Asheville dining scene. Infusing traditional Italian flavors with local Appalachian ingredients, Graham aims to incorporate an unmistakable Asheville flare into Luminosa's Italian driven cuisine. In his approach as executive chef, Graham prioritizes creating seamless systems that empower his team to excel in their roles. By removing barriers and allowing employees the freedom to be creative, he aims to cultivate an environment where his team’s passion can thrive.
Outside of the kitchen, Graham finds solace in nature. He spends his free time exploring the woods, fly fishing, and foraging for unique ingredients. Additionally, he has a deep appreciation for live music and enjoys the vibrant music scene in Asheville.
